Transkriptum was founded by the historian Dr Philipp Küsgens. He graduated from the Freie Universität Berlin and earned his doctorate in History at the bilingual Université de Fribourg, Switzerland, in 2011. During his research on cultural history, including extensive work in archives all over Germay, Switzerland and France, he developed excellent skills in deciphering handwritten documents. He was the principal collaborator on projects for the Freie Universität Berlin and the Humboldt-Universität of Berlin as well as the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster. For all translations to English and French, Transkriptum collaborates with native-language translators.
